Sokokis Lake, Description

Sokokis Lake, sometimes referred to as Holland Pond, is located adjacent to Route 11 in Limerick. Sokokis is managed for warmwater fish species due to the lack of cool, well-oxygenated water available during the summer.
In 1956 the Maine Department of Fisheries and Wildlife successfully introduced largemouth bass into Sokokis, and an excellent fishery now exists. An abundant population of juvenile perch and minnows provides an excellent forage base Anglers can expect high catch rates of bass in the 10 to 15 inch range. Occasionally much larger bass are taken and a few have exceeded eight pounds.
