Round Pond, Lyman Description

Round Pond is a small, undevelope~ water located on property owned by York County Fish and Game Club. The pond thermally stratifies during the summer, providing a band of cold, oxygenated water suitable for
trout management. Round Pond was chemically reclaimed in 1946 to remove competing species (horn pout, pickerel, and
golden shiners) and enhance brook trout management.
Golden shiners (confirmed in 1980) and white suckers (confirmed in 1998) have since reestablished from illegal stocking(s) and will compromise brook trout
enhancement efforts. The open water fishery is maintained by an annual spring and fall stocking program.
York County Fish and Game Club provides anglers walk-in access along an existing gated gravel road located off the Mast Road.
