Got out on Pushaw lake for the second time on Sat april 26. My girlfriend Lynne and I ran up the lake in a very chilly wind all the way to the dam area. On my second cast with a POES RC1 Crankbait in silver/blue, I caught a 2.5 lb. smallie, Nice way to start the day. After untangling treble hooks from the net I cast to the exact same spot and caught another fat 2.5 lb. smallie. Now this day was starting to look promising! Cast about 3 or 4 more times and had yet another big fat fish chase my lure. Finally on about the 5th cast, as I was reeling up to the boat, this big ole smallie just came outta nowhere and slammed the bait. Just about pulled rod outta my hands. This fish was a nice fat 18 in. 3 lb. smallie. Well, I made about 5 more casts with out any bites so I moved down closer to the dam, Cast over toward a downed tree, and WHAM! another fat 3 lb smallie. 4 fish, less than 15 casts. It was sweet to be on the water that day.
