Seven Tree Pond Description

Seven Tree Pond provides good fishing for
warmwater species including bass, white perch, and
pickerel. In 1966, Department personnel
successfully stocked Seven Tree Pond with
largemouth bass. Largemouth bass now provide an
attractive supplement to the fine smallmouth bass
fishery.
Attempting to create a coldwater fishery,
and because Seven Tree Pond has only marginal
water quality, brown trout were stocked
experimentally in 1972. Annual stockings are
necessary to maintain a fishery due to the lack of
spawning habitat. Even though a few browns 'holdover'
to old age the poor returns to the angler
resulted in the suspension of the program.
Future brown trout stockings are planned but the
numbers will be reduced.
A paved State owned boat launch facility is
located off State Route 235 in the town of Union.
