Fishing in the forks area..Help

Does anyone have any tips on fishing in this area? Tackle, ponds, what to fish for, etc.? My first trip to fish in Maine. Really looking forward to it. Will be fishing mostly from land as i will have two small kids with me. None the less, I am still looking for some great fishing action.
