The lake is known for its first-rate bass fishing, and also has good fishing for brown trout, brook trout, and white perch. Lake Cobbosseecontee lies within the borders of 5 towns including Manchester, Winthrop, Monmouth, Litchfield, and West Gardiner. It covers some 5,543 acres, is approximately 9 miles long, and has a maximum depth of just over 100 feet. Lakeside Motel and Marina are on this lake. There are many places for lodging or any activity you would enjoy. Cobbosseecontee Lake in southern Maine is an absolute jewel of a lake. It has long been considered Maine's BEST overall bass lake. During its spring, summer, and fall seasons, Cobbosseecontee is home to a combination of comfortable temperatures and a cooperative, mixed bag of largemouth and smallmouth bass. And it's surrounded by a friendly, tourist-oriented countryside, making the lake a perfect site for a family fishing or watersports vacation. Cobbosseecontee affords the avid boater with almost 10 miles of boating and watersports fun - including the only working landlocked 100 year old lighthouse.
